July 2018 Family Promise Update

\A GIANT thank you to the Sunday school. At their closing performance on Sunday, June 17, the students donated their offerings for the year to Family Promise of Ontario County, and the amount was over $900!  This will be very much appreciated by FPOC as they begin to help Ontario County residents in need.

Family Promise is geared up and ready to open as of September 23.  Watch for news of the opening celebrations. This is our opportunity to begin helping. Volunteer training will be in August, and we will be supporting St. John’s Victor the week of September 30. Training will only be for a few hours on a Monday evening, and our contribution is only two nights during the week. This Faith in Action promises to be a wonderful experience. I joined with the Church of the Assumption in Fairport a few weeks ago as they welcomed friends to their church for the week. It was their 14th year of doing this and it was a joyful experience for both the church members and the clients.

Remember the bed race will be Saturday, July 28 on the pier in Canandaigua. We have a bed and we have a team, thanks to Howie Barnes. There are large fabric squares in the family room. You can take one and have your family decorate it with the ‘Reaching Out to All’ theme and bring it back so we can sew it into a bed cover/banner for the race.  We are asking for a donation (about $10) for the squares and that money will go to Family Promise.  Thanks!
